To get to La Chiripada Winery from Albuquerque, take Interstate 25 north to Santa Fe and follow the signs to Espanola and Taos (Hwy 285). From Espanola take Hwy 68 north, 25 miles out of Espanola look for Hwy 75 heading east from Hwy 68 (Dixon turnoff). The winery is three miles from the junction, on your left.

La Chiripada Winery & Vineyard is tucked away in the lovely Embudo Valley of northern New Mexico. Owned and operated by the Johnson family, La Chiripada has been creating award-winning wines for over 30 years and is northern New Mexico’s oldest winery!

Producing over 20 varieties of wine, the winery specializes in both regional and estate grown wines that range from dry reds to port and crisp whites. The vineyard was established in 1977, following the traditions of the first Spanish settlers, and the name La Chiripada (meaning “a stroke of luck”) was adopted from the original ranch where the winery is located.

Visit the winery, located in the town of Dixon, New Mexico, 50 miles north of Santa Fe and 25 miles south of Taos or stop by the tasting room located in Taos on 103 Bent Street. Complete tastings are offered at both locations from 11am – 6pm, Monday thru Saturday and 12 – 6pm on Sunday.
