Visual Poetry through Olga Nazarova’s Photography – Opening Reception

Saturday , April 6th, 2024

1:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Taos Art Museum at Fechin House

Nazarova’s works are profound and sensitive, drawing the viewer in to experience the beauty of a second in time. She captures moments of solitude, movement, stillness and mystery – from the poetic trail of a ballet dancer’s choreography to the flutter of a young child’s hair in the wind. Upon looking at Nazarova’s images, one feels as though time has stopped and the rush of daily life dissipates as they enter into a world of silent melodies. Regarding the photographs in the show, Nazarova said, “During my childhood in the Republic of Karelia, Russia, I spent many quiet moments pondering the forests, listening to all their sounds, drifting into daydreams. I have been chasing the ability to explain those feelings ever since. These images are the closest attempt to transcribe them.”

An exhibition reception will take place April 6, from 1-3pm in the Fechin Studio.
