Unitarian Horace Mann once wrote that teaching is the “most difficult of all the arts,” but could he have envisioned the situation that educators find themselves in today? Because today, teaching isn’t only one of the most difficult vocations, it’s also dangerous. It requires courage and it requires passion. This Sunday, as many go back to school, we honor the teachers, librarians, and other educational professionals who are driven by a fiery love, for their students and for learning.
