From the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Bees and Locusts bring a sound that’s as unique as their roots. This seven-piece, Indigenous-led band from Taos Pueblo fuses organic hip-hop, R&B, soul, funk, and traditional Native rhythms into a high-energy groove that fills the dance floor. Fronted by poet and orchestrator Cody Mirabal, aka “Ph8,” the band radiates positivity with uplifting lyrics and beats that invite all ages to move. Their lineup—bassist Damon Young, drummer Jonah Romero, vocalists Solomon Goot and Naomi Gomez, guitarist Sarah Martinez, and keyboardist Gabriel Lincoln—melds diverse musical backgrounds into one powerful, soulful sound.
