Violinist Carmit Zori is an acclaimed soloist and chamber musician, recognized for her Leventritt Foundation Award, Pro Musicis International Award, and top prize in the Walter W. Naumburg International Violin Competition. She has performed with prestigious ensembles like the New York Philharmonic and Philadelphia Orchestra, and given recitals at venues such as Lincoln Center and the Tel Aviv Museum. Zori founded the Brooklyn Chamber Music Society in 2002 after a decade as artistic director of Bargemusic. Her festival appearances include Marlboro, Chamber Music Northwest, and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.
Violinist Todd Phillips is a distinguished chamber musician, known for his work with leading ensembles and festivals. A frequent performer at the Chesapeake Chamber Music Festival alongside his wife, violinist Catherine Cho, Phillips has contributed to the event’s success for over two decades. His performances are marked by technical precision and expressive depth, with collaborations spanning a wide range of chamber music repertoire. Phillips has also been involved in educational outreach, sharing his expertise with students and audiences on the Eastern Shore.
Violist Maria Lambros is a seasoned chamber musician with a rich career performing at venues like Carnegie Hall, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, and Vienna Konzerthaus. A former member of the Mendelssohn, Meliora, and Ridge String Quartets, she has earned the Naumburg Chamber Music Award, a Grammy nomination, and Europe’s Diapason d’Or. Lambros has performed with esteemed groups like the Guarneri and Juilliard Quartets and at festivals such as Tanglewood, Aspen, and Chesapeake. She teaches at the Peabody Institute and performs with the Cooperstown Quartet.
Cellist Michael Kannen is a versatile musician and educator, celebrated for his work as a founding member of the Brentano String Quartet, with which he won the Naumburg Chamber Music Award and the Royal Philharmonic Society’s award for best debut recital in England. Kannen has performed globally at venues like the Sydney Opera House and Wigmore Hall, and at festivals including Spoleto and Tanglewood. A faculty member at the Peabody Conservatory, where he holds the Sidney Friedberg Chair in Chamber Music, he also plays with the Cooperstown Quartet.
