Taos Opera Institute Presents David Portillo in Concert

TOI proudly presents the 3rd Annual Winter Warmup for Summer Song featuring Metropolitan Opera leading tenor, David Portillo, and Santa-Fe based pianist, Nathan Salazar. David will play the role of Tamino in Mozart’s The Magic Flute this holiday season at Metropolitan Opera. He appeared in Santa Fe Opera’s 2024 season Don Giovanni as Don Ottavio and the Italian Singer in the production of Der Rosenkavalier. Nathan has worked and performed with Santa Fe Desert Chorale Santa Fe Opera, Opera Colorado, The Handel and Haydn Society, The Boston Symphony, and the Boston Lyric Opera. Salazar recently made his company debuts at San Francisco Opera and Los Angeles Opera in Gabriela Lena Frank’s El Ultimo Sueño de Frida y Diego. David and Nathan will perform beloved opera classics, along with art song and musical theater repertoire.
