The Sunset Series is a collection of intimate concerts showcasing a vibrant array of local and touring musicians, curated by Sarah Hart and Richard Aufrichtig. Together, Hart and Aufrichtig take a creative approach to presenting live music in Taos – originally at Hart’s now-shuttered Ennui Gallery and subsequently at the Taos Center for the Arts.
JUNE SWOON
Los Angeles indie rocker and entertainer June Swoon writes American songs with equal parts honey and gravel. A California native with years spent drifting between different parts of the U.S., June Swoon and her music come postmarked from many faces of the American West. New Noise Magazine described her work as having “an amazing sense of folk and pop melodies…an explosion of emotion.” Appealing to fans of Mitski, Jenny Lewis, and boygenius, June Swoon blends alternative rock, folk, alt-country, and pop to create conceptual, modern albums with experimental edge and timeless appeal.
Through June Swoon’s songs, we witness a woman making sense of the world on a personal and societal level, often with a sense of weariness (a common thread in her songwriting). Yet, she maintains a hopeful sound, meeting uncertainty with an embrace, lighting the way for us to do the same.
June Swoon has self-produced and released two albums independently, opened for Goldie Boutilier and Brennan Wedl, toured the West Coast and Southwest as a solo artist, and is embarking on her first U.S. tour with a full band in Summer 2025. Her powerhouse vocals, heartfelt lyrics, and scrappy work ethic make her and her band a must-watch.
AUDRA RODGERS
Audra Rodgers likes to make people cry with haunting melodies and evocative lyrics that explore the depths of love, loss, heartache, and beauty.
CROW
Crow is just a dude with a bass. Sometimes he sings little songs. Sometimes he doesn’t. Sometimes he just plays pretty stuff on his bass. You’ll hafta come and see which. He’s been known to have conversations with animals and collect meaningless trinkets. His favorite color is not blue. [Taoseńos may know Crow from his work with Daily Winter Crow. Check out his “My Morning Improv” YouTube Channel for a taste of the vibe.]
