The Society of the Muse of the Southwest (aka SOMOS), a literary organization in Taos, NM, since 1983, is celebrating its 10th annual Taos Writers Conference, 7/24-7/26/26. The three-day conference includes a keynote speech/reading by Alexandra Fuller, author of over six memoirs including Let’s Not Go to the Dogs Tonight (recently made into a featured film), and Fi, (which was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize in 2025).
The workshops focus on poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, memoir, essays and short stories with allowing time for generative writing and discussion of craft skills.
