Poet Renée Gregorio has written her first non-fiction book, The Writer Who Inhabits Your Body. Come hear her read and present from her book in Taos at 4 pm on Saturday, May 11, at the SOMOS Bookstore at 108 Civic Plaza. The book integrates decades of work in poetry, the teaching of writing, the practice of the martial art aikido, and her work as a master somatic coach. Of the book, Renée says: “In this work I’ve been up to for decades—placing body-centered practices beside writing practices—the underlying purpose is to expand our voices and powerfully align our energies so that we can increase our creative capacity on the page and in our lives.” Join Renée on May 11 for her presentation, reading, and booksigning.
Renée arrived in New Mexico in 1985, right after completing her MA in Creative Writing at Antioch University, London. At that time, New Mexico, and in particular, Taos, seemed to be just the place to deepen as a poet individually and in community. Although she has moved around the state some since then, living in northern New Mexico and her dedication to her writing have remained constant.
