Re-Monstering gathers artists who turn to the figure of the monster as a way of resisting control and reimagining freedom. The monster is unclassifiable — it slips between categories, crosses borders, and lives beyond the boundaries that power works so hard to enforce. In this moment of tightening regimes of surveillance, exile, and exclusion, the exhibition asks: who is the monster, really? The works presented here do not fear monstrosity but reclaim it — as absurdity, as play, as vulnerability, as defiance. Through textiles, painting, and sculpture the artists summon the grotesque as generative, transforming what has been shamed or silenced into a site of possibility.
