Coexistence, My Ass!
MON Mar 16, 4pm
2025 | Documentary | Directed by Amber Fares, Starring Noam Shuster-Eliassi | BR | 1h 30m
Noam Shuster Eliassi grew up the literal poster child for the Israeli-Palestinian peace process before making a hard pivot to stand-up comedy and political satire. But as the region sinks deeper into devastating violence, she must meet the moment by challenging her audiences with hard truths that are no laughing matter. This one-woman show tackles the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the struggle for equality, challenging audiences with uncomfortable truths when her pursuit of coexistence starts sounding absurd.
“Filmmaker Amber Fares observantly portrays Noam Shuster Eliassi’s work with uproarious humor, heartrending moments and bold idealism.” – Tomris Laffly, Variety
“The film leaves the impression that, sadly, comedy may be one of the only paths to peace left in the region.” – Ben Kenigsberg, New York Times
