Bugonia
MON Dec 1, 7PM
2025 | Comedy/Sifi | Directed by Orgos Lanthimos, Starring Emma Stone, Jessie Plemons, Aidan Delbis | 2h | R
Two conspiracy-obsessed men kidnap the CEO of a major company when they become convinced that she’s an alien who wants to destroy Earth. The film, a remake of the South Korean movie Save the Green Planet!, explores themes of conspiracy, misinformation, and alienation as it blurs the lines between what is real and what is imagined.
“Lanthimos’s hand is steady as he spins us deeper into chaos, always withholding just enough to keep us questioning what’s real.”
– Maxwell Rabb, Chicago Reader
“Bugonia is one of the best films in recent memory to capture what it feels like to be alive right now. Because of that, it is Yorgos Lanthimos’s darkest and most timely work.”
– Clarisse Loughrey, Independent (UK)
