Join us at the Taos Public Library for “I’m Not an Astronomer—Why Should I Care About Light Pollution?” with Colin Nicholls. Learn how light pollution affects not just stargazing, but wildlife, the environment, human health, culture, and even the economy—and discover simple, low-cost ways to reduce it. After the talk and Q&A, step outside for a short stargazing session behind the library.
Colin Nicholls earned his Bachelor’s and Doctoral degrees in Physics from University of Oxford and spent 20 years working in high-tech research in the U.S. and U.K. He later taught at Taos High School and now teaches Math, Physics, and Astronomy at University of New Mexico–Taos, where he serves as an associate professor and technical lead for the Cielo Centro project.
