For over three decades, the Taos Watercolor Society has celebrated the vibrant and expressive qualities of watercolor painting. Founded 33 years ago by a passionate group of painters dedicated to elevating the medium, TWS has grown into one of the most respected artistic organizations within the renowned Taos art colony. Each year, TWS hosts The Best of the Southwest, an annual exhibition showcasing recent works by its Signature and Active members. This year’s show promises a diverse and vibrant collection of original paintings, prints, and note cards—all available for purchase.
The public is warmly invited to the opening night reception at the Stables Gallery, featuring complimentary refreshments and hors d’oeuvres. Visitors can also experience live painting during the TWS “paint-out”, where artists will set up their easels outside the gallery (weather permitting), offering an exciting glimpse into watercolor artistry in action.
