Felix y Los Gatos bring Chicano Cumbia Blues to the dance floor with a high-energy mix of Nuevo Mexicano folk, fiery guitar blues, soulful zydeco accordion, Tejano spirit, and infectious cumbia rhythms.
Led by New Mexico singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Felix “Gato” Peralta on accordion, guitar, harmonica, and vocals, the trio delivers original music rooted in Genízaro identity, ancestral memory, and the living traditions of the Southwest. Their sound is rhythmic, soulful, and full of fire — music for moving your feet, lifting the room, and celebrating culture in motion.
With songs featured in PBS’s The Genízaro Experience: Shadows in Light and The Steps of Our Ancestors, performances reaching the Kennedy Center, and a 2026 Fulcrum Fund grant from 516 ARTS, Peralta is a cultural force not to be missed.
