ABOUT THE WORKSHOP SERIES • CENTER is hosting a statewide series of hands-on printing workshops, bringing professional printmaking resources directly to communities across New Mexico. These workshops focus on the process of creating high-quality photographic and fine art prints using professional Epson printers. Designed for photographers as well as artists interested in reproducing their work, each session offers practical, hands-on experience preparing and printing images for exhibition, personal projects, or sale.
PARTICIPANTS WILL:
- Learn the fundamentals of fine art printing and file preparation
- Work directly with professional printing equipment
- Create and take home their own high-quality prints
Workshops are open to all experience levels and are designed to be accessible to a wide range of participants. A suggested materials donation helps cover the cost of paper and printing supplies while keeping the program accessible to all.
This series is part of CENTER’s broader effort to expand access to creative resources across New Mexico and connect artists and photographers with tools, knowledge, and community. CENTER also plans to offer occasional open printing hours in Santa Fe later this summer, creating additional opportunities for participants to continue producing professional-quality prints beyond the workshop.
* NOTE: Stefan Wachs, a frequent contributor to the workshops, speaks fluent Spanish and will be available to offer support, guidance, and instruction in Spanish during the sessions.
*NOTA PARA PARTICIPANTES HISPANOHABLANTES: Stefan Wachs, colaborador frecuente de los talleres, habla español con fluidez y estará disponible para ofrecer apoyo, orientación e instrucción en español durante las sesiones.

Artist Bio:
Born and raised in Switzerland, Stefan has always held a deep curiosity for cultural, political, and social issues that shape our world. After earning a Master’s degree in International Relations, he began his career working with various NGOs and the United Nations, gaining insights into global affairs.
In 2005, Stefan transitioned to the American Southwest, where he embraced photography as a powerful medium for storytelling. Over the years, he has produced and facilitated numerous photography workshops in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, through the Santa Fe Photo Workshops and National Geographic. Committed to empowering others, he has also taught photography workshops for refugees from Syria and Afghanistan, helping them amplify their stories, as well as conducting a photo workshop in Benin, Africa, supported by friends and colleagues in government and cultural sectors.
Simultaneously, Stefan has cultivated a diverse portfolio as a freelance editorial and documentary photographer, contributing to a wide range of regional and national publications. During this time he also worked closely with many fine art photographers, notably Kurt Markus, Debbie Fleming Caffery and Sam Abell, among others.
