Art Exhibit – Taos In Time: Early Modernism to Contemporary Abstraction

Wednesday , August 10th, 2022

11:00 AM - 4:00 PM

203 Fine Art

Art Exhibit Gallery Hours: Tuesday – Thursday from 11 AM – 4 PM.

On display until September ’22, this exhibition is a timeline of talent that has impacted the Taos art scene throughout its eras. Artists like Rebbeca James Salisbury, Andrew Dasburg, and Ward Lockwood, commenced the Modernist era while Hans Hofmann began to direct us toward abstract expressionism. His students, Adeïne de la Noë, and John De Puy, reflect back at him in their own right. Beatrice Mandelman, Louis Ribak, Michio Takayama, Oli Sihvonen, and Keith Crown, are further representations of the Taos Modernists’ push toward abstract art.

Until finally, we see the endless forms of contemporary abstraction and conceptual art, with modern masters like Larry Bell and Ronald Davis, in the company of our represented artists: Tom Dixon, Ron Lopez, America Martin, Dean Pulver, Hank Saxe, Marsha Skinner, Jonathan Sobol, and others.
