10:00 AM - 7:00 PM
House of Fire Gallery
Our first guest is Andre Von Huene, a notable Taos and Santa Fe collector and antique dealer. Andre will present his collection of antique polychrome Pueblo pottery, as well as antique felt hats of finest quality with handmade bands, unique silver and turquoise jewelry, and historic photographs, among other artifacts for sale. Light refreshments will be served on Friday evening.
I’ve been a dealer and collector for more than 30 years. 27 of which in Santa Fe at the famous outdoor flea market by the Opera. I started a store for western items of finer quality in sizes like hats and boots, belts, clothing jackets. Watching the flow of people from all over the world interested in Turquoise I started designing and producing a line of jewelry and then Navajo rug purses with Turquoise inlay. New Mexico and Arizona, matriarchal Pottery from Hopi, Zuni, Cochiti for example. Navajo rugs and Rio Grande weavings as well as textiles from Southeast Asia. I collect Robert Stivers and Darren Vigil, Gray out of Santa Fe and Laure Heinz, Jane Grover, and Jeanne Clark, out of Taos. But for the last couple years, the focus has gone heavily into Hats shaping creating great Hat bands finding beat up old hats that have a great look. –Andre Von Huene
