Everybody mark your calendars. The eighth annual “Night of 1,000 Stars” is coming up.
Night of 1,000 Stars is a talent show for Taos youth, showcasing any performance art you can think of.
In the past, they have crammed the entire show into one weekend. But due to popular demand, they have added another weekend. There will be a total of six shows:
7:30 p.m. Friday April 12th
1:00 p.m. & 7:30 p.m. Saturday April 13th
7:30 p.m. Friday April 19th
1:00 p.m. & 7:30 p.m. Saturday April 20th
For eight years, Cynthia Valerio has been putting together full-functioning shows for children and teens ages 5 through 18. She has help from Taos high school students. There are around ten hosts, people on lights and music, and stage directors.
This year, there is a large variety of singers, poets, dancers, musicians, and groups. One of my personal favorite acts (and the cutest) is “Hearts Wide Open,” a musical group for very young children singing original songs.
Night of 1,000 Stars is a great show for people of all ages, and music lovers. There is classical, rock, dancing, you name it.
Night of 1000 stars is also a great opportunity for young musicians to get started. As a performer, this showcase has helped me with my performance skills, and helped me get more confidence singing in front of people and being on stage.
A lot of the performers are nervous, so be sure to clap.
Tickets are available at the TCA office Monday through Friday, or you can buy them at the door the day or night of the show. But don’t wait — it sells out every time.
Please buy tickets! Night of 1,000 Stars is only possible with the support of people like you.
