The Taos Entrepreneurial Network is celebrating its 10th anniversary this week, and they’re doing it in style: with a big ol’ party at Taos Mesa Brewing. We caught up with TEN board member Susan Dilger to find out what’s up with TEN.
Livetaos: What’s been most exciting about TEN over the past 10 years?
SUSAN DILGER: TEN has really hit its stride in the past few years and has developed a tremendous network of resources for entrepreneurs in the community. Whether the entrepreneur has a business idea, is ready to start a small business or needs some help with an existing business, TEN can provide a connection to get additional help. And TEN’s services are completely free.
What developments have been most surprising to you over the past decade?
The “pay it forward” model really works. TEN’s approach is “How can we help?” By helping others and developing the network of entrepreneurs, we help the business community get stronger.
What are we looking forward to in the next ten?
More growth in the Taos entrepreneurial community! We have events planned to include the teens of the community to encourage and spark their entrepreneurial spirit.
Why should folks join TEN?
TEN has no traditional membership. And it’s FREE. We meet the third wednesday of every month at the Historic County Courthouse Mural room on the Plaza from 6:00 – 8:00. Come to network, offer help, get help . . . It’s a very inspirational group. You never know when you’ll hear of a new business or an idea that will trigger action.
Anything in particular about “TEN IS Ten” that we should know?
Please join our TEN is TEN celebration on Wednesday, January 21 at Taos Mesa Brewing from 5:00 – 8:00. There will be a silent and dessert auction, dancing to Big Swing Theory, cash bar, and a Mexican buffet.
$15 at the door (limited tickets available). Come meet and celebrate Taos’ entrepreneurial community!
