You may have noticed that Taos is becoming a veritable theater town these days. From the inception of outdoor summer Shakespeare thanks to Teatro Serpiente, and the revival of the community musical thanks to Working Class Theater, the last couple years have been exciting for thespians of all persuasions.
We’ll run a full-season theater roundup soon, but we wanted to let you know about some upcoming rounds of auditions so that you can Get Your Acting On.

Taos Children’s Theater Presents Alice in Wonderland
or, Alicia en El Pais de Las Maravillas. The annual Summer Theater Dance Camp will take place June 10 – July 21. Directed by Karen Thibodeau, choreographed by Tuesday Faust & Amber Vasquez.
AUDITION ANNOUNCEMENT: All knaves of hearts, bossy flowers, white rabbits, please come to audition in Wonderland! Bring a story, poem, dance or song to perform.

Teatro Serpiente’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream:
Teatro Serpiente is producing A Midsummer Night’s Dream at KTAOS in July (yes, they’re bringing their third annual outdoor summer Shakespeare production down to KTAOS!).
Auditions will be held at Working Class Theater’s Playhouse (1335 Gusdorf, Suite L) on May 25, from 11am – 4pm.

Cindy Valerio and Taos Academy present Annie
Cindy Valerio and Taos Academy are producing ANNIE, onstage at the TCA November 7 – 16. Cindy Valerio will direct, Ryan Allais will musical direct, and the marvelous Amber Vasquez will choreograph.
There will be two rounds of auditions, beginning May 3.
At Taos Youth Ballet Studio # 3 (1027 Salazar Road, Taos)
Auditions open to singers, actors, and dancers ages 6 years old and up — and adults! Great parts available. Prepare a 2-3 minute song you love, and you’ll also be asked to sing and act parts from the show.
Audition Dates:
Weds July 24, Thurs July 25, & Fri July 26- 4:00-8:00 P.M.
Sat July 27 – 10:00 A.M.-1:00P.M.
