If you were fortunate enough to attend the Iron Brew event at Taos Mesa Brewing last month, you know that it was one of those uniquely badass Taos-ian events — thunder, wind, rain, glowing furnaces, molten metal, beer, and a great crowd of local rockstars. If you missed it, you’re in luck — it sounds like they’re planning more events like it.
Whether or not you made it, you can still check out the fruits of their labor this weekend. Come on out to TMB this Friday night (October 4th), for happy hour from 5-7 — they’ll be unveiling the largest piece created at the Iron Brew, a gift especially designed for Taos Mesa Brewing as a thank-you for hosting. There’ll be a band (Keltic Cowboys), $3.00 beers (Raven’s Forge Red), and a lot of excellent people to get Friday-night rowdy with.
To help get you pumped up for Friday, check out these sweet Iron Brew photos:
Quoth Gary “the poet-lawyer” Feuerman, “The iron performance was not only strange and hypnotic, but also drew a big, diverse crowd of hardy Taosenos who embraced the rain. Just the kind of thing TMB is forging a reputation for. We look forward to more!” See what he did there? Nice wordplay, sir.
Keep an eye on the Taos Mesa Brewery schedule at their website www.taosmesabrewing.com for upcoming events.
Oh, and stick around at TMB after the event for the SOMOS Storytelling Slam, a brand-new event kicking off the annual Taos Storytelling Festival.
