Join us for an exciting talk with Dr. Jon Lundgren, an ecologist who has dedicated his career to bridging the gap between cutting-edge science and on-the-ground farming practices. After 11 years as a USDA research scientist and recognition from the White House with the Presidential Early Career Award, Dr. Lundgren now directs the Ecdysis Foundation and runs Blue Dasher Farm—putting regenerative principles into practice every day.
Dr. Lundgren will share how we can grow food that heals ecosystems, empowers farmers, nourishes eaters, and strengthens communities. Drawing from his own extensive research and the growing interdisciplinary field of agroecology, as well as hands-on work with producers across the country, he’ll demonstrate how regenerative stewardship makes farms more resilient and productive while building the foundation for healthier food systems.
Dr. Jon Lundgren earned his PhD in Entomology from the University of Illinois in 2004. His research focuses on assessing the ecological impacts of industrial agriculture and developing practical alternatives that work for real farming operations. He has authored over 150 scientific publications, secured more than $16 million in research funding, trained dozens of scientists from around the world, and advised US and international agencies on agricultural policy.
As CEO of Blue Dasher Farm and Director of Ecdysis Foundation, Lundgren works directly with farmers and ranchers to demonstrate that healthy biological communities—from soil microbes to beneficial insects—are essential to productive, profitable agriculture.
