St. James Episcopal Church
Join us August 13 at 5:30 for light supper and Becky Roh, presenting “Sustainable Retirement” at St James Church. All are welcome.
Many of us are retired, meaning that we live off of investments (or invested pension or retirement funds). How these funds are invested makes a big difference to our environment: Oil and Gas investments and loans ensure further degradation of our air, soil, and water.
Where we bank also makes a big difference. Banks use our deposit to support commercial activity. Some large banks are major lenders to fossil fuel companies that pollute our environment.
Conscious investing in environmental or social funds need not reduce your retirement income, and for many of us, a small reduction in income would not impact our level of happiness.
Becky Roh is an investment advisor at Edward Jones, Taos.
