Step back in Time at The Carson House and Museum
See what life was like in early Taos in the mid 1800’s. The Museum is located one block east of Taos Plaza. The home was constructed around 1825 and was Kit and Josefa Carson’s residence in the 1840’s thru the 1860’s.
Enjoy the 4 rooms of the home and a film in the theatre. Walk thru Josefa’s kitchen with dual sided fireplace/oven for cooking that is truly one of the unique treasures of Taos. See Kit Carson’s original desk and a displays of his military service.
The Carson House & Museum’s top priority over the next 12 months is to rehabilitate, restore, and preserve this important American Treasure. Please come by and visit the Museum Tuesday – Saturday 11-4 PM.
