The Yodel #3: The Month of June-uary

LIVETAOS CONTRIBUTOR ROSS BURNS BRINGS YOU THIS SERIES ABOUT CONDITIONS, NEWS, AND BREWS AT TAOS SKI VALLEY DURING THE 2014-2015 SKI SEASON. THIS SERIES IS NOT ENDORSED BY TAOS SKI VALLEY; YOU CAN FIND THEM ONLINE IN THEIR OWN WORDS AT SKITAOS.ORG.

Taos Ski Valley has a new pretty website. The content is the same as on the old site, but the aesthetic is lovely. The home page has a big graphic, also lovely, announcing the opening of Kachina Peak soon. What they mean by soon, I don’t know.

The Winter Wine Festival Grand Tasting is Saturday (1/31). The start time is 4:00 p.m.

And now for the weather.

An optimist reading the forecast for this Thursday through Sunday would see a potential of 16 inches of new snow. The half-empty crowd would look at the low-end numbers and see eight inches. Killjoys like me assume it’ll all blow north and we’ll get zilch and be knee-deep in the kind of mud we normally don’t see until April.

I’m not taking any chances. Desperate times call for desperate measures. The Gods must be appeased. Sacrifices must be made. Blood must be spilled.
