Taos Art Museum at Fechin House
Longtime artist Richard Alan Nichols, who has lived in Taos since 1994, is having a 30-year retrospective, “The Story of Us,” from Sept 17th through Dec 29th in the Fechin Studio at the Taos Art Museum. His work captures the essence of Taos, reflecting the people and culture through a lens of personal experience and intimacy.
Nichols’s impressionistic portraits and landscapes are masterfully executed and highlight the significant connections and moments he has experienced in Taos over the course of 30 years. In this retrospective, the paintings come together to create a rich tapestry, weaving a story that reflects not a single experience, but the collective stories of many.
