Fragile Fires is a Denver based rock band. The trio consists of two brothers Nick Barth (Guitar, Vocals) , Alex Barth (Bass) and Brian Mixon (Drums).
The Barth brothers grew up in in the Midwest. They both learned guitar in their early teens and often jammed together, but were never in the same band. Both were influenced by a unique mix of bands ranging from The Velvet Underground , Talking Heads, The Pixies, and The Cure to more contemporary psychedelic bands like Ty Segall, King Tuff, and Thee Oh Sees. It was apparent early on there was a calling for them to form something original.
Brian Mixon grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina. His influences were diverse as well. Going to school in Chapel Hill exposed him to many influential and up and coming bands from the college scene. Later, Brian would move to Denver and join a variety of great local bands. The bands ranged from jazz bands and rock to alt country and Americana. He is always on a journey to expand and share his musical universe.
The Barth brothers recently headed West to Denver. Upon their arrival they all met through a mutual friend and relative. It was apparent after their first jam there was a great chemistry. They also discovered a shared passion for a unique mix of styles, influences, and generations of music.
Nick and the guys are tirelessly writing new music and seeking to inspire and be inspired by the local scene and beyond.
