Harwood Museum of Art

The Bird’s Nests edition is a collaboration between Lynda Benglis, Hank Saxe and Cynthia Patterson, published by Benefit Print Project.

An original sculptural object that Benglis built with handmade paper over a steel wire form is the model for the variable edition of ceramics. Using digital scanning and 3D printing, the delicate paper sculpture became the basis for a set of molds used to form the eighteen ceramic sculptures. Each was uniquely glazed and painted. The brightly colored surfaces of the Bird’s Nests evoke the iconic poured works that Benglis famously made in the late sixties. The artist lives and works in Santa Fe. Her work is exhibited internationally.
