On Thursday, November 8th, the Taos Opera Guild will sponsor a free community conversation prior to the “MetLive in HD” broadcast of the new opera MARNIE on the following Saturday. Facilitators will lead an open discussion of the story’s characters and its undercurrent of childhood abuse and sexual and psychological violence.
The opera Marnie, composed by Nico Muhly, is reimagined from the Winston Graham novel which also became a 1964 Alfred Hitchcock film. The performance will be shown at the TCA on Saturday, November 10th.
Facilitators: Don Zillioux, Ph.D, clinical psychologist, member Taos Opera Guild, Lorenne Gavish, Community Against Violence (CAV)
Moderator: Bill Swan, Membership Co-chair, Taos Opera Guild
