Fiction writer, Sandra Hunter, winner of the 2017 Leapfrog Press award, reads from “Trip Wires.” Pat Pollard, local artist and memoirist (“Long Time Lost” Nighthawk Press)reads excerpts from Bonnie Lee Black’s memoir, “How to Make an African Quilt,” about her (Bonnie’s ) time spent in Segou, Mali, West Africa, as an extension of her Peace Corps experience in Gabon, Africa. In the memoir Black weaves together her teaching the craft work of quilting-making as an economic development called the “Patchwork Project” and the universal questions of how to blend our life experiences, both positive and negative, to create something entirely new and beautiful.
