9:00 am-5:00 pm - By appointment only
This permanent, rotating exhibition spans Joseph Henry Sharp’s artistic career and includes numerous paintings, ephemera, and Native American art that he collected and which appeared in his work. Sharp was one of the founding members of the influential Taos Society of Artists. The venue is a free-standing adobe studio that Sharp designed and used from 1915 until his death in 1953, and which was extensively restored in 2017. The exhibition has been refreshed for the 2018 summer season with new artworks. The studio can be toured during the Couse-Sharp Historic Site’s First Saturday open house 3-5 pm, June-October, and by appointment; available appointment hours are Mon-Sat 9-5 through October, Tue-Fri 10-4 in the winter. Visit couse-sharp.org or call 575-751-0369 to schedule.
