Americana/psych-pop duo There Is No Mountain have been on tour since August 19th and are headed our way, booked on Friday at the Adobe Bar at the Taos Inn.
Kali Giaritta and Matt Harmon, now married, met playing music in college in Boston. 5 or 6 years ago they moved to Portland, OR to start a band called the Ascetic Junkies. After touring the northwest for about 4 years with the Ascetic Junkies, with Kali and Matt both doing a lot of writing, last summer the two decided to quit their dayjobs and tour more. When the rest of the Ascetic Junkies were unable to do the same, Kali and Matt developed new two-person arrangements and spent last summer touring. By the end of the summer they decided that they loved playing in that format, and made the duo — There Is No Mountain — the full-time band.
