I interviewed Taos Pueblo Pow Wow director Richard Archuleta at the tranquil grounds this past weekend. In this video, he explains some history of the Taos Pow Wow, tells us about competitions sponsored by the families of passed-away elders, and what else to expect next weekend. Richard walks us through the different types of competitions, with upwards of $40,000 in prize money available.
Everything you need to know and more about the Taos Pueblo Pow Wow is in this video, including information about vendors, web links, hospitality services, and the best times to come down (Saturday’s Grand Entry at 7pm).
Also, folks from the community are invited to volunteer setting up on Thursday and Friday, or take down on Monday.
The Taos Pueblo Pow Wow is:
$15.00 a day
$20.00 for two days
$25.00 for all three days
Children under 10 are free
